Exquisine Pty Ltd is a multi-award winning food manufacturer which produces high quality dairy desserts in Thornbury, Victoria. The factory has large north facing roof space which made solar an ideal solution to their daytime peak energy consumption.
EnviroGroup was commissioned by Exquisine to install an 80kW solar PV system. This project received funding through the carbon price funded Clean Technology Food and Foundries Program. EnviroGroup worked extensively with Exquisine preparing an energy audit and CTIP grant application, which was approved in mid 2013.
The array is expected to generate 107,450 kilowatt-hours across the year, or approximately 300 kilowatt-hours per day. The system will offset a significant portion of the company’s electricity usage; which along with other energy efficiency works – including lighting retrofit – is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 176.6 tonnes of CO2 every year. Extensive planning, project management skills and excellent communication ensured that the system was installed two weeks ahead of schedule. Exquisine were extremely pleased with EnviroGroup’s expertise and professionalism in designing, installing and commissioning this solar PV system.
