With the installation of a 96.5kWp solar PV system on its operation centre in Seaford VIC, the Frankston City Council is closer to achieving its goal of being a carbon neutral council by 2025.

Solar power is an integral part of the plan and the council has committed to installing solar on many of the buildings that it owns and manages. By December 2015 Council had already installed 288kWp of solar power installed on its properties and scheduled another 520kWp throughout 2016.

After a tough tender process EnviroGroup won the council tender due to our attention to detail, system design and in-house engineering and warehousing  capabilities.

The system is comprised of 386 Yingli 250Wp panels, with power from the panels being handled by SMA Tripower inverters. The system will generate approximately 127 Megawatt hours (MWh) per annum and will offset 157 tonnes of greenhouse gasses per year.

This project is one of many that we have completed for Frankston City Council – each one won through a rigorous tender process.

Working with councils is an Envirogroup speciality – in 2017 we will be completing another 100kWp system at the Frankston Arts Centre.
