Inverter Error Codes

The table below lists inverter error codes you may see on your solar system.

You will notice that a lot of the codes are due to grid voltage variations which the inverter responds to. There is no fault with these and nothing to be done until the grid voltage normalises.

Many old cheap inverters break and cannot be fixed. EnviroGroup runs a dedicated service department, and we may be able to assist in resolving your inverter issue and get you back up and running again.

Code Meaning What to do?
2 The grid voltage exceeds inverter allowable upper limit. Check the grid voltage and connection on the inverter.

If the voltage is outside the tolerance range, ask your utility grid supplier for a solution.

If the voltage is within the tolerance range and the error code remains, contact us for an inspection.

3 Grid transient voltage exceeds the permissible range. The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

If this code is consistently displayed, contact EnviroGroup for a consultation.

4 The grid voltage is below inverter’s allowable lower limit. Check the grid voltage and connection on the inverter.

If the grid voltage exceeds the permissible range of inverter protection parameters, ask the utility grid company for a solution.

If the grid voltage is within the permissible range. If code continues to appear, contact us for an inspection.

5 The grid voltage is too low. This is a short-term fault due to grid conditions. Inverter should fix itself. If the fault still appears, contact EnviroGroup.
6 The AC output current exceeds inverter allowable upper limit. Wait for the current to fall below the protection value.

7 Transient AC ocercurrent. The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

8 The grid frequency exceeds inverter allowable upper limit. Check the grid frequency and connection on the inverter.

If the frequency is outside the tolerance range, ask your utility grid supplier for a solution.

If the frequency is within the tolerance range and the error code remains, contact us for an inspection.

9 The grid frequency is below the inverter allowable lower limit. Check the grid frequency and connection on the inverter.

If the frequency is outside the tolerance range, ask your utility grid supplier for a solution.

If the frequency is within the tolerance range and the error code remains, contact us for an inspection.

10 Islanding. Check whether AC circuit breaker is triggered.

Check whether AC cables are all firmly connected.

Check whether grid is not in service.

If all conditions are okay and this fault still occurs in the LCD screen, contact EnviroGroup for a consultation.

11 The DC component of AC current exceeds inverter limit. The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

12 A failure current is detected. Call EnviroGroup to check your system for ground faults.
15 The grid voltage exceeds the permissible range. The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

Check the AC cable.

Check the grid frequency and connection on the inverter.

If the voltage is outside the tolerance range, ask your utility grid supplier for a solution.

If the voltage is outside the tolerance range and the error code remains, contact EnviroGroup for a consultation.

16 The bus voltage or power is high. The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

21 PV1 input overcurrent is detected. Contact EnviroGroup for a consultation.
22 PV2 input overcurrent is detected. Contact EnviroGroup for a consultation.
36 The temperature of radiator is too high. Check whether the inverter operating ambient temperature is more than the range indicated in the specification.

Check whether the AC output power exceeds the nominal power.

37 The internal temperature of inverter is too high Check whether the inverter operating ambient temperature is more than the range indicated in the specification.

38 Relay fault is detected The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

39 The insulation resistance is low. (ISO-flt) Check whether the positive and negative of PV panels is short-circuited with ground lead.

Wait a moment for inverter recovery.

If the fault occurs repeatedly, contact EnviroGroup .

41 Leakage current self-test abnormality The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

47 The PV configuration mode set in the phone application interface is not in accordance with the configuration in the connection cabinet. Disconnect the inverter.

Re-select PV configuration mode and re-connect PV strings.

48 Sampling channel failure The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

53 Auxiliary DSP detects grid voltage exceeds set protection value Check the grid voltage and connection on the inverter.

If the voltage is outside the tolerance range, ask your utility grid supplier for a solution.

54 Auxiliary DSP detects grid frequency exceeds set protection value Check the grid voltage and connection on the inverter.

If the frequency is outside the tolerance range, ask your utility grid supplier for a solution.

56 Auxiliary DSP detects grid leakage current exceeds set protection range Contact EnviroGroup to check for a ground fault.
57 Auxiliary DSP AC current sampling channel anomaly The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

89 Arc detection OFF warn Remove the warning by enabling arc detection function or keep the warning by closing arc detection function.
100 The AC output current exceeds inverter protection limit. The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

101 The grid frequency exceeds inverter allowable upper limit. Check the grid frequency and connection on the inverter.

106 The inverter is not grounded Call EnviroGroup to check your system for ground faults.
200 The bus voltage is high. The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

STATE 102 AC voltage too high Check connection to the grid.

STATE 103 AC voltage too low Check connection to the grid.

STATE 105 AC frequency too high Check connection to the grid.

STATE 112 RCMU error Check connection to the grid.

STATE 301 Short term interruption due to AC overcurrent. The fault should automatically be remedied. If the error code persists contact EnviroGroup for service advice.
STATE 302 Short term interruption due to DC overcurrent. The fault should automatically be remedied. If the error code persists contact EnviroGroup for service advice.
STATE 303 Short term interruption due to power stage set over temperature Check openings for cooling air and heat sink if necessary; fault is rectified automatically; if this code keeps recurring contact your solar power system installer.
STATE 304 Internal temperature too high Check vents and cooling system, if the problem persists contact a solar installer
STATE 306 Intermediate circuit voltage too low for feeding energy into the grid If this code appears even with sufficient sunlight, consult EnviroGroup for a solution.

If the code appears early morning/late evening when sunlight is minimal, it is part of routine operations and NOT an indicator of a fault.

STATE 311 Polarity of DC strings reversed The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

STATE 412 Fixed voltage mode has been selected instead of MPP voltage mode and the fixed voltage has been set to too low or too high a value If this code is consistently displayed, contact EnviroGroup for a consultation.
STATE 415 Safety cut out via option card or RECERBO has triggered. The inverter is not feeding any energy into the grid. If this code is consistently displayed, contact EnviroGroup for a consultation.
STATE 416 No communication possible between power stage set and control system If this code is consistently displayed, contact EnviroGroup for a consultation.
STATE 417 Hardware ID problem The inverter will automatically attempt to correct this error.

STATE 566 Arc detector switched off (e.g. during external arc monitoring) No error, Confirm status code by pressing ‘Enter’.
STATE 567 Grid Voltage Dependent Power Reduction is active (grid voltage has exceeded 250 Vac) Acknowledge the error code.

STATE 705 Conflict when setting the inverter number (e.g. number already assigned) Correct the inverter number via the setup menu
STATE 721 EEPROM has been reinitialised or EEPROM is faulty Acknowledge the error code.

STATE 731 Initialisation error – USB stick is not supported Check or replace USB stick.

STATE 733 No USB stick connected Check the USB is connected.

STATE 735 Update file does not match the device, update file too old Update the inverter firmware.

STATE 736 Write or read error occurred Check USB stick and the data contained on it or replace USB stick.

Never unplug a USB stick if the ‘Data Transmission’ LED is still flashing or lit.

STATE 737 File could not be opened Remove and then reinsert USB flash drive; check or replace USB flash drive
STATE 738 USB stick is write protected or full Create storage space, remove write protection, check or replace USB stick if necessary.

STATE 740 Initialisation error on USB flash drive Check USB flash drive; reformat on PC for FAT12, FAT16 or FAT32.
STATE 741 Error during recording of logging data Remove and then reinsert USB flash drive; check or replace USB flash drive
STATE 743 Error occurred during update process Repeat the update process, check USB stick.

Note: If all LEDs continue to flash red for longer than 30-60 minutes, then try to power cycle (turn off and turn on) the gateway once.
