Solar Victoria’s rebate program has launched once more, with record interest in the $2,225 discount on solar PV. The 3,333 rebate places for homeowners has proved to be very popular, with an estimated 10,000 applications lodged in the week following the release on Monday the 1st of July.
The massive influx was anticipated by state rebate body. Solar Victoria CEO Jonathan Leake referred to the interest following the 10-week pause on the scheme before July as “pent-up demand” for rooftop PV. The staggered release hopes to steady out demand and ensure safety and quality are prioritised, ensuring only industry-recognised CEC-accredited installers (like EnviroGroup) are allowed to install.
