The unique roof design of the Kew Recreation Centre and unsecured power prices led City of Boroondara to EnviroGroup to create a sustainable and suitable solution for the council facility.

EnviroGroup installed 97kWp system across a number of roof tops on the centre featuring  365 x PANDA Series modules from Yingli.  The system will generate enough power equivalent to taking 45 medium-sized cars off  the road, and a $16,000 saving on their annual power bill.

The Mayor of Boroondara, Councillor Coral Ross said “this is by far the largest solar project we have  undertaken – embracing solar energy, not only do you save money by generating your own power, but  you also reduce your carbon footprint, it feels good on all fronts.”

The system comprises

  • 365 x 270W Yingli Solar Panels
  • SMA Sunny Tripower 25000TL Inverter
  • Approx 190 Tonnes of CO2 savings pa
