Did you research this unit/system at all? their own website show a litany of bad reviews in relation to the product & the service/support. There isn’t even any response from the company to these reviews.

      Hi Simon,

Not only have we researched the Redback, we have one running live in our showroom and it’s great. You are right in that there are numerous bad reviews and all of these relate to the first generation product. In that version, the monitoring aerial was mounted in a way that the software could not respond and it repeatedly stalled. That issue has long been fixed and we are now well down the track of software versions. We can report that it is a solid as a rock. We have systems out there with no downtime and one of our biggest competitors has dozens of Redbacks in the field with no issues. I agree that Redback have been slow to respond to the online reviews and they are addressing this. Envirogroup have significant experience with batteries and we looked into many integrated systems before going with Redback but after our own internal testing and industry feedback we were satisfied that the system is not only robust but clever. Pylontech are one of the best Lithium batteries available and the Redback electronics was never an issue. If you are in Melbourne feel free to come into our showroom to see our working display and chat about it.

Is Redback a Lithium variant type of battery and are there other battery types that you retail?

      Hi Peter,

Redback use Pylontech US2400 Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries which routinely appear in the top echelon of battery brands. Check this independent report comparing the Pylontech US2000 with other big players like Sony:

Envirogroup has extensive experience with all sorts of battery chemistry going all the way back to flooded lead-acid. As well as our preferred brands like Tesla, Enphase and Redback we have installed many of the current popular systems such as LG Chem, Delta, BYD, Sonnenschein, Samsung, BAE, Simpliphi etc. For off-grid work we tailor the solution to the problem and might select an appropriate battery from any that are available. For residential grid-connected systems we need integrated battery solutions that are elegant and easy to install. Delta for instance have an excellent system that is reliable and smart but is not integrated into a single package so it is ugly and takes forever to install so it’s taken a back seat in our product range. Redback is even easier to install than Tesla, does more and is far less expensive with similar reliability.

Please feel free to call us at any time to talk in more detail if you wish.

      Kind Regards
